Preserving a heritage.
Inspiring the next generation.

For centuries, the Sephardic Jewish people carried a rich tradition of faith, scholarship, music and culture across the world. Our chapter keeps that legacy alive in South Florida — teaching our children where they come from, and who they can become.

Our Mission

Knowledge, unity, and pride in a living tradition

We bring to Jewish students — and to the whole community — an awareness of the origins, history, literature, music and customs of the Sephardim. We do this in a spirit that fosters unity among all Jews, Ashkenazi and Sephardi alike.

What We Do

The Sephardic Education Program

Our flagship program brings Sephardic heritage into Jewish day schools, woven through the subjects students already study.

Religion & Minhagim

Exploring Sephardic traditions and customs of prayer and observance, side by side with Ashkenazi practice, with respect for both.

History

From the Golden Age of Spain through the Expulsion to modern times — the Sephardic story as part of Jewish history.

Literature & Languages

The poetry of the great Sephardi authors and the living languages of our people: Ladino, Haketia and Judeo-Arabic.

Philosophy

The thought of Maimonides, Ibn Gabirol and others who shaped both Jewish and universal knowledge.

Customs & Traditions

Family life, holidays and culinary heritage — from the Moroccan Mimouna to a Sephardic Shabbat table.

Musical Traditions

The melodies of the Sephardic diaspora that carry our history, our emotion and our joy.

Why It Matters

Our children are the embodiment of our future

Because they are still in their formative years, we focus our work on children and young students. Through the Sephardic Education Center and the Jack and Josefina Taché Sephardic Beit Midrash, we give them the knowledge to carry their heritage forward with confidence.

Your support funds teachers, materials, guest speakers and community gatherings that make this possible — and keep a centuries-old tradition vibrant for the next generation.
